Reader’s View

I am a huge of fan of mystery novels, and I love reading one which I can’t keep down. I found myself finishing the book really quickly. Sophie Hannah has written an engaging novel. The title, “The Mystery Of Three Quarters” is symbolic of piece of battenberg cake where each quarter represents the accused, and how one is separated from the other three.

Novel begins with Hercule Poirot finding out about the the four letters that have been sent out signed with his name, accusing Slyvia Rule, John McCrodden, Hugo Dockerill and Annabel Treadway for the murder of Barnabas Pandy! All four find this accusation absurd and are taken aback. Hercule takes the matter in his own hands, along with the Scottish detective he starts to find out Barnabas Pandy had died of a natural cause in December. Not convienced by the Pandy family, Hercule decides to investigate further – only to discover loose ends in each of their alibis.

I would certainly recommend the book, as a reader is hooked till the last page and one would never be able to solve the mystery before Poirot himself. Read the book to find out who is Barnabas Pandy and did any of the four people really kill him ?

As for me, The mystery reminded of Agatha Christie’s novels and I’ll be picking her The Killings at Kingfisher Hill soon!
